What if you were expected to act one way all your life? Such is the life of your favourite emojis, and it’s pretty much in a quandary.
Just Play it Cool! Welcome to Textapolis, the bustling city where all emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. There’s also a loser lounge – yeah, remember all those emojis who have no place in your everyday conversation, or perhaps, the ones you never actually wanted?
Seems like the lives of these ubiquitous texting smiling faces isn’t much different from that of humans. They talk about death. They talk about being deleted. It’s about love, friendship, heartaches and moral values. They pretty much have the same struggles as we humans do – yeah, the “meh” emoji, Gene (voiced by T.Miller) is trying to fit into the crowd (perhaps find a code to fix him) so he can be “normal”.
In short, the Emoji Movie is anything but an average Kids’ movie. It’s much more than an animated movie – it’s about discovering who you are, and facing all adventures with austerity while you are at it and then….. there’s a poop joke. While these cute, colourful and playful emojis are likely to tickle your funny bone, don’t be surprised if there’s a lot of rude language and a lot of potty humor. Check out the official trailer and embark on the “app-venture” :
Discovering who you are is an adventure. It’s beyond words and their (emojis) feelings are huge. With that being said, the new trailer unveiled last evening, is loud, colourful, and full of pop culture references.
Directed by Tony Leondis, the Emoji Movie will decorate screens July 28, 2017. It features the voices of T.J. Miller, Steven Wright, James Corden, Patrick Stewart, Anna Faris, Maya Rudolph, Rob Riggle, Jennifer Coolidge, and more.
