After weeks of anticipation and probing by fans, we finally received the first teaser of Spider-man: Far From Home. For the first time ever in the Spider-man movie history, Peter Parker is going to another country for a surprising adventure. Though the teaser has created innumerable and concerning speculations among the fans; it has also revealed Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. But before diving into the details of the teaser, the use of ‘The Ramones’ deserves an A+ for ‘I wanna be sedated’ is an all-time classic.
The trailer starts with answering our question of how Aunt May took the revelation that her nephew is the Spidey which she came to know at the end of the Spider-man: Homecoming. If the swinging of Spider-man in Manhattan doesn’t make you nostalgic then we don’t know what will. Because it clearly took us back to 2004, Sam Raimi’s The Spider-man 2 movie. Also, Peter’s suitcase features the initials “BFP” keeping the memories of late Uncle Benjamin Parker alive. From going exclusively with Peter Parker and MJ in the trailer to stepping of Nick Fury, it is a lot to be expected from this movie. Now since we have mentioned Nick Fury, does his stepping in Spider-man movies and looking for Peter as shown in the teaser also indicates that Tony Stark is no longer going to have Peter Parker’s back so Nicky Fury has taken the role of mentoring the web-slinger?
Peter Parker feels Europe doesn’t need friendly neighborhood Spider-man but someone doesn’t feel that way. We get a glimpse of the Elementals; the first one goes by the name of Magnum in the comics, a being made of rock. Second is Zephyr, the Elemental of air seems to be making this London bridge fall down. Third is Hellfire, the Elemental of flame, is the leader of these villainous creatures in the comics. Keeping with the Elementals, the fourth is Hydron.
The master of special effects and illusion, MYSTERIO steps in to save Peter from the Elementals. What is actually going on? What is he up to? And it’s great that he goes full on “fishbowl head” when he leaps into action. Seeing him ride atop a cloud of green gas, firing green blasts at the water Elemental, also made us feel that “He’s like Iron Man and Thor rolled into one”.
Flash Thompson idolizing Spider-Man goes all the way back to the very earliest days of the Spider-Man comics. Also, a great way to end the teaser.
Talking about the fate of Tony Stark is important! If you went all bat-crazy after noticing Pepper Potts signature on the check at the beginning of the trailer then let us remind you that she was made CEO of Stark Industries by Tony Stark in Iron Man 2. Also, Happy Hogan’s ‘You’re all alone’ alludes toward a grim end for Tony Stark in the Avengers: Endgame which we again hope isn’t the case considering that Peter Parker decimated at the end of Avengers: Infinity war but clearly ‘feels so good’ in the released teaser means that ‘the current teaser is not the end’.
