Game of Thrones Season 7 Trailer – White Walkers are Ready!

Boy oh boy, we’ve come a long way! This is an unstoppable game of thrones and it’s just getting better with each season. The first promo trailer of the seventh season is out and it’s just “mind-blowing”.

Three of the leaders –Jon Snow, Cersei, and Daenerys – walking slowly through hallways to the beat of the cool song “Sit Down” by British rock outfit James – quite a sight to behold!

Did you know that in 1991 ‘Sit Down’ was recognized as one of the best songs to ever miss out on the number one spot? In fact, the original version never made it to the top list. But then, we know that the makers of this politically inclined fable always find a way to amaze their fans, and in a rather unconventional way. The title of the songs manages to capture the central conflict revolving the series – just who’s is going to sit down on the throne?

“Those who feel the breath of sadness

Sit down next to me

Those who find they’re touched by madness

Sit down next to me

Those who find themselves ridiculous

Sit down next to me

Love, in fear, in hate, in tears”

Here’s the video to the song:

Now, before we divulge into the bit by bit breakdown of the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer, let’s take another look at it, because, let’s just admit that it’s badass and we love watching it over and over again… yeah, the feeling is mutual!

The First Glance

First of all, Winter is definitely here! We couldn’t help, but notice the eclectic work done by costume designer, Michele Clapton.  Just check out Cersei’s heavily embroidered black gown, Dany’s black dress with scarlet cape, topped with Dragon clasp and Jon Snow’s, well, he seems to be a lover of classics.

Coming back to the trailer, it begins with three centers of power, doing a lot of walking, ascending to what we call, the Throne of all the troubles so far (pun intended).  Cersei is the Queen in the King’s landing, Jon Snow is serving as the King in the North at Winterfell, and Daenerys is in Dragonstone. Dragonstone is where the Mother of Dragons was born and now it’s her turn to claim Dragonstone as her own.

White Walkers

And then there are White Walkers, much stronger, just waiting for the right time to strike and definitely know a lot more than what all characters can perhaps anticipate. The trailer ends with the cold blue eye of the Night King. We have a feeling that it’s a reminder that the armies of white walkers are gearing up for the “Great War”, and it’s a threat to the seven kingdoms, probably, beginning with the north of the wall.

Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere on July 16 on HBO. Don’t forget to share your theories, we’d like to hear them out aloud!
