It’s almost there, the hype is building, and we have fans throwing off all kinds of theories – Yes, the Game of Thrones Season 7 release date is confirmed!
Winter Has Come
Game of Thrones’ seventh season arrives July 16 on HBO. As opposed to Spring release for all six seasons, the summer date was finalised to accommodate the scheduling requirements of the show. After all, Winter Is Here!
As stated in a press release by Casey Bloys, President of HBO programming, “Now that winter has arrived on Game Of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing.”
The teaser trailer released by HBO on 10th March doesn’t feature any footage from the new season. However, the agonized statues of family Sigils and dialogues from past seasons throw some light on what’s to come. While the first teaser may leave a lot of fans a bit overwhelmed, the shattering statues and Jon Snow’s ending notes, “There’s only one war that matters, the Great War and it is here,” give a clear indication that great war is the one between the Seven Kingdoms and the White Walkers.
The upcoming season will only have seven episodes instead of the usual ten, something that the producers had hinted at months ago in a press release. Adding another surprise element to it, musician Ed Sheeran will have a cameo in Season 7. Expect to see some major characters crossing paths more than ever before and a few ones joining the realm.
For all that you need to know, this season will try to break all boundaries. It’s time you gear up to witness the biggest drama of all times coming to its end!
