It’s here, again and the seventh instalment of Game of Thrones is going to be anything but usual bloodshed. It’s much more intense and invigorating, and everyone’s life seems to be at stake. A blink of an eye and you might just miss another death!
There’s a chill in Westeros, and things are only going to get colder. With a cluster of theories all over the internet, there are a lot of lingering clues that could help fans know what to expect this season. With series already coming to its conclusion, people are speculating about what is in store for all the characters of the Seven Kingdoms. Check out these top things to look forward to in Game of Thrones Season 7
Big Battles, and Big Dragons
“Drogon is the biggest of the bunch – his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”
If there’s one thing that you should look forward to in the seventh season of Game of Thrones is the big battles with big, bigger, biggest dragons. The series has been consistent with its efforts to deliver larger than life battles (remember the battle of Blackwater and the Battle of Bastards), almost like mini movies. Judging by some of the epic scenes in the latest trailer, it looks as if Lannister army and Dany’s assorted allies, at some point in the season, would go head to head, leading to a fiery battle. All in all, we are going to see Drogon play a huge part in the battle!
Intense Lannister Sis-Bro Drama
This one is no brainer! There’s a reason why Jamie has been labelled “Kingslayer” and if we’re to judge the New Queen of Westeros, Cersie Lannister seems to be heading on the same path as the Mad King. It’s only a matter of time that Jamie will get to know the gruesome reality behind the “Wild Fire” and we suspect that he will be forced to put his sister down. In George Martin’s books, part of the Maggy the Frog Prophecy supports this theory. Will Jaime pull the trigger as soon as Season 7? What do you think?
The season one started off with the Starks and then after a series of unfortunate events, the whole family got separated almost immediately. Fans were already speculating whether the Starks would ever reunite, and with Jon Snow being proclaimed The King of the North, it only seems reasonable that the series would conclude with the wolves coming back together in the end.
‘When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies…but the pack survives’ – Sansa Stark
Jon Snow and Sansa Stark have already made it home, and in the latest trailer, we can clearly predict the reunion of few more starks as Bran heads to South. Arya is also in the North, not too far from her siblings in Winterfell. House Stark will once again be a force to be reckoned with!
The ambiguous relationship between Sansa and Petyr Baelish continues to unfold into a fascinating drama. The look between the two in the revealed video is oblique, and it will be interesting to see if Sansa gives in to Petry’s proposal of being the Lady of Winterfell, and even the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. However, in the recently released chapter from the upcoming book, Sansa still serves as Littlefinger’s pawn and it would be hard to see how regressively she moves in that direction or if she decides to stay true to Starks.
“What in the world is Littlefinger up to?”
Will her newfound desires for power drive her to pursue Petyr’s proposition? From a fan’s perspective, she better get rid of Littlefinger before it’s too late!
And then there are Undead While Walkers….
While the fight between houses is inevitable, it is a possibility that all of them must come together to defeat the as-yet in the shadows of the supernatural evil. As the second poster revealed by HBO, White Walkers are going to be one of the major players in the new season. We have a feeling that Sam will soon discover some incredible information on how to protect the realm from White Walkers.
The third trailer finally pulls back the curtain on the greatest fantasy drama on television.
If these revelations didn’t get your pumped up for Season 7, there’s not much we can do!
